Wherever reputation and power mattered more than the people in their care — churches, schools, teams, agencies — the cover-up was not a betrayal of the mission. It was the mission. This chapter will be about how that machinery works, and how it is broken.

The pattern repeats across every institution we have trusted. That is not coincidence. It is design.

This chapter is being written to the same standard as the sexual-harm chapter and the Trauma Cycle — evidence-led, fully cited, every door kept open. In the meantime, the two completed chapters show what it will become.
